Our Lady of the Rosary
Feast Day October 7

Pope St. Pius V established this feast in 1573 to thank God for the victory of Christians over the Turks at Lepanto.  That victory was attributed to the praying of the rosary by the faithful. Clement XI extended the feast to the universal Church in 1716.

Marian Mantle Group members regularly pray the Rosary Novena to Our Lady of Sorrows for the Return of Our Loved Ones to the Practice of the Catholic Faith.  We know that Mary understands our pain when a loved one walks into trouble in the world.  We ask her to take their hand and walk with them.  We also ask her to carry our prayers to the feet of her Son, Jesus.

"I am the Lady of the Rosary, I have come to warn the faithful to amend their lives and ask for pardon for their sins. They must not offend Our Lord any more, for He is already too grievously offended by the sins of men. People must say the rosary. Let them continue saying it everyday."

~Our Blessed Mother to Lucia at Fatima
October 13, 1917
“The rosary, though clearly Marian in character, is at a heart a Christ-centered prayer. It has all the depth of the gospel messge in its entirety. It is an echo of the prayer of Mary, her perennial Magnificat for the work of the redemptive Incarnation which began in her virginal womb...It can be said that the rosary is, in some sense, a prayer-commentary on the final chapter of the Vatican II Constitution Lumen Gentium, a chapter that discusses the wondrous presence of the Mother of God in the mystery of Christ and the Church"

~Pope John Paul II, apostolic letter The Rosary of the Virgin Mary

Prayer

O God whose only begotten Son has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life, Grant that we beseech Thee while meditating upon these mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may both imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ our Lord Amen.
