St. Margaret Mary Alacoque
Feast Day October 18

"God loves us with a passionate love."

Margaret Mary was chosen by Christ to awaken us to the realization of God's love symbolized by the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

In the Marian Mantle Group we turn to the Sacred Heart and ask His Mercy on ourselves and those we love--especially our prodigal Catholic loved ones.  We lean on the Promises of the Sacred Heart.

Twelve Promises of the Sacred Heart given to St. Margaret Mary

1. I will give them all the graces necessary for their state in life.

2. I will give peace in their families.

3. I will console them in all their troubles.

4. They shall find in My Heart an assured refuge during life and especially at the hour of death.

5. I will pour abundant blessings on all their undertakings.

6. Sinners shall find in My Heart the source and infinite ocean of mercy.

7. Tepid souls shall become fervent.
8. Fervent souls shall speedily rise to great perfection.

9. I will bless the homes in which the image of My Sacred Heart shall be exposed and honoured.

10. I will give to priests the power to touch the most hardened hearts.

11. Those who propagate this devotion shall have their name written in My Heart, and it shall never be effaced.

12. The all-powerful love of My Heart will grant to all those who shall receive Communion on the First Friday of nine consecutive months the grace of final repentance; they shall not die under My displeasure, nor without receiving their Sacraments; My Heart shall be their assured refuge at the last hour.

From the letters of St Margaret Mary

"Set up your abode in this loving Heart of Jesus and you will there find lasting peace and the strength both to bring to fruition all the good desires He inspires in you, and to avoid every deliberate fault. Place in this Heart all your sufferings and difficulties. Everything that comes from the Sacred Heart is sweet. He changes everything into love."

The sacred heart of Christ is an inexhaustible fountain and its sole desire is to pour itself out into the hearts of the humble so as to free them and prepare them to lead lives according to his good pleasure.

"Are you making no progress in prayer? Then you need only offer God the prayers which the Savior has poured out for us in the sacrament of the altar. Offer God his fervent love in reparation for your sluggishness. In the course of every activity pray as follows: 'My God, I do this or I endure that in the heart of your Son and according to his holy counsels. I offer it to you in reparation for anything blameworthy or imperfect in my actions.' Continue to do this in every circumstance of life."

Prayer of St Margaret Mary

‘O Sacred Heart of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, to You I consecrate and offer up my person and my life, my actions, trials and sufferings. …. This is my irrevocable will, to belong entirely to You, and to do all for Your love. … O Heart of Love, I hope all from Your infinite goodness.’

Devotion to The Sacred Heart

When Our Lord appeared to St. Margaret Mary and revealed devotions to His Sacred Heart, He requested us to receive Holy Communion on the first Friday of every month. Devotion to the Sacred Heart began to spread in te convents of the Visitation order, Margaret Mary's order. The devotion was officially recognized and approved by Pope Clement XIII in 1765.
