St Louis de Montfort
Feast Day April 27
Patron of those who turn
to Mary for Help and Guidance
MMG members
believe that by honoring the mother of Jesus we show our love for her Son.
We ask her intercession on behalf of those we love, especially those who have
strayed from His Church. St Louis encouraged all to pray the rosary and to
walk with Mary because He knows she will lead us to Jesus. What better
place to lovingly put those we love than in the arms of the beautiful mother of
the Saviour!

Who was St Louis de Montfort?
St. Louis spent his
life promoting devotion to the Blessed Mother. His personal motto, "Totus
tuus" (completely yours) was chosen also, by John Paul II.
St Louis, a diocesan
priest, was truly an apostle of the Rosary. He wrote The Secret
of the Rosary, which remains popular still today. The most common manner of
reciting the Rosary is the method that originated with Saint Louis when he
preached at parish missions in France.
He preached Mary wherever
he went and promoted Consecration to Mary. Millions of people over the
years have adopted his teachings. Pope John Paul II made this consecration
himself and every place he visited as pope.
In True Devotion to
Mary, Saint Louis prophesied that the army of souls consecrated to Mary will
be Her instrument in defeating the Devil and his Antichrist. As Satan gains
power in the world, so much more shall the new Eve triumph over him and crush
his head.

Writings of St Louis de Montfort
True Devotion to the
Blessed Virgin, is the classic explanation of Marian devotion.
'Mary is the fruitful
Virgin, and in all the souls in which she comes to dwell she causes to flourish
purity of heart and body, rightness of intention and abundance of good works."
(True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin)
"Do not imagine that Mary,
the most fruitful of creatures who gave birth to a God, remains barren in a
faithful soul. It will be she who makes the soul live incessantly for Jesus
Christ, and will make Jesus live in the soul." (True Devotion to the Blessed
Virgin)
