Ask and You Shall Receive…

There is a story about a father and his children who were climbing a steep hill. The Dad realized the younger child was having a difficult time and had dropped behind. At his dad’s direction, the older boy ran back down the hill to his sibling and said, "Daddy says you should have called to him. You don’t have to try and climb all by yourself. He sent me to help you!"

In Matthew 7, Jesus tells us the same thing. "Ask and you shall receive." When praying for a prodigal loved one’s return to the Faith, don’t try do it alone. Ask for help. Try these ideas:

Ask friends and family to pray for this one they love, too.

·Join a group that gathers to pray the rosary at church.

· Start a "Silent Strength" prayer group and pray for the return of prodigal Catholics. Jesus said, "Where two or more are gathered in My Name, I am there, too" He didn’t say 10 or 12! It only takes two to make a prayer group.

Ask a convent or monastery to pray for you..

Pray for the Poor Souls and ask them to pray for your prodigal. Pray for deceased relatives and friends.

· Ask the Saints to pray. Turn to those whose lives make them obvious choices: St. Monica, St. Jude, St. Rita, St. Michael the Archangel and others.

Contribute to groups that aid children (Native American and inner city missions, etc.) and ask that the children pray for your intention

. If you want help in forming a "Silent Strength" prayer group, our contact information is at the top, left-hand of page 4. ♥
