Marian Mantle Prayer Group Update For May 4, 2007

**************************************************

++MESSAGE FROM THE COORDINATOR

Hi, Everyone,

Wow!  So much to tell you.  Bob and I have had quite a time the past week or so.  The talks went well in Newton, Conway Springs, and Anthony.  We met so many people we now count among our friends—and you can now count them among the prayer warriors who are lifting your prodigals up to the Lord in petition for their return to the Faith.  The hospitality offered by all was so kind.

As an added bonus for us, in each town, the priest was present.  Everyday I realize more and more how important our priests are to our spiritual well-being.  Where would we be without them and their guidance?  For one thing, as Father Corapi often says “No priest, no Eucharist!”  And then, who would we turn to for wisdom?  For guidance?  Lay theologians are well-schooled, yes, but the clergy and religious have an added “feature”—along with their education, they are the Lord’s anointed.  Remember, it was not the Cure’ of Ars intellectual prowess that made him a great priest and saint.  God took a man who, we are told, was only accepted into the priesthood because there was a terrific shortage of priests.  Ah, the power of the Lord’s anointing.”

Gloria and her daughter Janet greeted us warmly in Newton when we spoke to the Daughters of Isabella State convention there.  Their spiritual director, Fr. Joseph was in attendance and I was happy to hear his critique afterward.

Sally and the ladies of her new prayer group visited with us over lunch (Bob especially enjoyed that part.) at Lotus’ home in Conway Springs before the presentation at the church.  Father Tom read the prayer that was used to open each day of Vatican II as an opening prayer.  Ever since Father Dennis Wait prayed that the Holy Spirit would be present each time we give a talk, we ask the audience to sing Come Holy Ghost before we begin speaking.  Father Tom’s prayer gave us a great lead-in to the hymn!

In Anthony, Bob and Janet graciously offered their home as a place of rest when we arrived.  We spent a lovely afternoon with them.  Then, Father Michael and the ladies of St. Joan of Arc parish in the Anthony-Danville-Harper area welcomed us with wonderful home cooking. (Again, Bob especially enjoyed that part.) Father Mike was so encouraging to us and to those present.  He offered Mass before dinner so it was a wonderful evening.  Several indicated an interest in forming a prayer group there—as did several in Newton and Conway Springs.

It was no surprise to see members from the Hutchinson groups in attendance at Conway Springs since they have been supportive of Sally as she began to organize the group there.  In response, Sally offered her support and that of her group to the people in Anthony as they begin to organize their prayer group.  What a wonderful smile you all must put on Our Lady’s face as she watches what you are doing.  God will surely bless your efforts to clear the debris away from the path that will lead your prodigal loved ones back to Jesus and His Church.

I thank all of you in this Marian Mantle Group who prayed for the success of those talks.  Bob and I found our usual share of attacks and distractions double this time.  But, your prayers saw us through it all safely.  Things have calmed down greatly—but, please pray us through tomorrow’s talk at St. Pats yet.

We send a warm welcome to all who have joined the online group this past week or two.  We look forward to the future presentations which are in the process of being scheduled.  We thank all who so faithfully send stamps to help us get the newsletter and other mailings to you.  You are all so thoughtful—even down to Charlotte asking if she should send some 2-cent stamps to add to any 39-cent stamps we have in reserve!  You are all joining together and helping all of us carry out the work He has asked of us.  Let us persevere!

May we all look forward to the day when we can say with great joy, “The child for whom I have prayed, has come home!”

Peace,

MaryAnn

GOD'S WORD FOR US

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me;  and I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of my hand.  My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand.  I and the Father are one."

WORDS OF HOPE

I know by experience, that the glorious St. Joseph assists us generally in all necessities. I never asked him for anything which he did not obtain for me."

                                                                                      ~St. Teresa of Avila

Prayer to St. Joseph

O blessed Joseph, faithful guardian of my Redeemer, Jesus Christ, protector of thy chaste spouse, the virgin Mother of God, I choose thee this day to be my special patron and advocate and I firmly resolve to honor thee all the days of my life. Therefore I humbly beseech thee to receive me as thy client, to instruct me in every doubt, to comfort me in every affliction, to obtain for me and for all the knowledge and love of the Heart of Jesus, and finally to defend and protect me at the hour of my death. Amen
