Marian Mantle Prayer Group Update For March 9, 2007

**************************************************

++MESSAGE FROM THE COORDINATOR

Hi, Everyone,

          Good News!  We have a new “Silent Strength” prayer group that has formed in Conway Springs, Kansas.  We welcome those members and all online members who are new to the Marian Mantle Group.  Every person who joins us in prayer makes our petition that much stronger.  We continue to pray that all prodigal Catholics will one day find their way back to Holy Mother Church.

          I am scheduled to speak at three locations in April and May.  April 20 I have been invited to address the Daughters of Isabella State Convention in Newton, Kansas, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Conway Springs April 21 with the new prayer group there, and May 5 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Kansas City, KS to speak at their First Saturday devotions.  My subject at St. Pats will be Pope John II and how his words have influenced so many, especially how they influenced me in the formation of the Marian Mantle Group. In any case, at all these events I look forward to meeting old friends and making new ones.

This will be my third visit to St. Pats.  My history with that parish is filled with beautiful moments for me.  Monsignor Mullen, took time from his busy schedule to listen to my thoughts and help me prepare that initial talk that continues to be the keynote of our seminars and retreats.  Theresa Smith, the adult education director and Susan Buck the DRE willingly critiqued my presentation and continue to promote the efforts of the MMG.  Many of the St. Pats parishioners were part of the RCIA team that I came to know and love during the time I was a sponsor for a confirmation candidate from there (this was at a time when the Marian Mantle Group began to move from an idea to becoming a reality).  I so welcome the opportunity to return and meet those friends again.

In fact, it is with joy, that I often reflect on the wonderful, faith-filled people who have crossed my path since this apostolate began.  Yes, each of YOU are included. I am so in awe of how God works, and so humbled by the way you share your hopes and fears, joys and frustrations, contentment and confusion, peace and anxiety with me.  I feel so privileged to be allowed to laugh and cry with you.  Most of all, I feel so blessed to be able to pray with you and to join you as we all pray together in this Marian Mantle Group.  You’ve often have heard me say that I am convinced that the tears and the prayers of mothers and fathers, grandparents and others who love prodigal Catholics, touch the heart of God. Thank you for caring about each other and about our non-practicing Catholics.  Your love and your prayers have brought about miracles through God’s grace and mercy being poured out, hopefully, your prayers (and that outpouring) will continue.

I ask this of each of you—even as you read this, please pause right now and say a Hail Mary for the poor souls and ask them to pray for God’s grace and mercy to be poured on all our prodigals and all the members of our group. May that “Hail Mary rain” water souls and help Faith take root.

May God grant each of us the perseverance of St. Monica and the unconditional love of the father of the Prodigal Son.  May the day come swiftly when we, too, are able to say those glorious words, “The child for whom I have prayed has come home.”

Peace,

MaryAnn
