THE MANTLE [Please send your prayer requests to pray@marianmantle.com or maryann@marianmantle.com] Marian Mantle Prayer Group Update For February 23, 2007 ************************************************** ++MESSAGE FROM THE COORDINATOR Hi, Everyone, We have beautiful weather today in Kansas City. The promise of Spring is all around and reminds us of the promises of God and the miracles that result from prayer. Throughout Lent we are reminded to take a look at ourselves and see where we need to make changes. Change my heart oh, God. Make me more like You. This is a good time for we who pray for loved ones to return to the Church, to examine how we are treating those around us. Let us always respond with love and kindness. Let us always keep the doors of communication open so that we will be available at the moment a loved one needs us to help them take that step back home. Aside from the clergy and religious, I think the best place any of us can go for advice is, first of all to Jesus, and then to the saints. After you read todays Gods Word for Us and Words of Hope, ask yourself this question: How does my attitude be toward my prodigal Catholic measure up? Now a note of response resulting from the last issue of the print newsletter: Many of you have asked if we have the little Holy Hour gift card available in our catalog. The answer is sort of. We never intended for this to be a product we offer. It will not be offered on the catalog pages. We would never put a suggested donation amount on something that conveys such a beautiful gift. However, as I have told you before, we do try to listen to our members and provide what you request. We offer two ways for you to get a card:
http://www.marianmantle.com/sp/hh-crd.htm (Please store this link address in your records. This is a hidden page on the Marian Mantle web site. It is available as a service to our members who wish to copy the card for personal use.
(Please indicate the number of cards you require-limit of 10). May God grant each of us the perseverance of St. Monica and the unconditional love of the father of the Prodigal Son. May the day come swiftly when we, too, are able to say those glorious words, The child for whom I have prayed has come home. Peace, MaryAnn . A SPECIAL REQUEST Please continue to remember Jane Stucker, prayer group coordinator in Leavenworth, KS, who is hospitalized due to an infection from knee replacement surgery. It will be a 6-8 weeks stay before it can be repaired and she will be able to walk again. Please keep her in your prayers. Send a message to her on the hospital web site: http://www.lmh.org/patients/ecard.jsp (Be sure to tell her you are with the MMG). May God bless you for your kindness to one of His faithful servants.
