Marian Mantle Prayer Group Update For February 9, 2007

**************************************************

++MESSAGE FROM THE COORDINATOR

Hi, Everyone,

With Valentines Day approaching we are bombarded on all sides by hearts of every size, shape, and color.  The Marian Mantle Group is known by our collective heartache due to those we love who do not worship beside us at Sunday mass right now.  However, we should also be known by our rejoicing, even in the midst of such heartache, because we have received the greatest valentine of all.  Jesus has given us His Heart, His Love, and His Joy!  This Valentines Day let us focus on the Sacred Heart of Jesus.  When someone hands you one of those little candy hearts with a message printed on it, read that message as if it comes from the Lord.  Do the same if you receive a card or an email.  Read today’s “God’s Word for Us” in the same way.  They are all touches of love from the Savior’s heart to ours.  This Valentine’s Day, let us take all our cares to the Sacred Heart.  Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place my trust in Thee.

May God grant each of us the perseverance of St. Monica and the unconditional love of the father of the Prodigal Son.  May the day come swiftly when we, too, are able to say those glorious words, “The child for whom I have prayed has come home.”

Peace,

MaryAnn

A SPECIAL REQUEST

One of our prayer group leaders, Jane Stucker, who has faithfully coordinated two prayer groups in Leavenworth, Kansas for almost three years, has a serious medical issue.  She had knee replacement surgery in January, developed an infection, and the knee joint was removed.  Jane will be in the hospital for 6-8 weeks before additional surgery can be done to put in a new replacement.  Of course, she is unable to walk during this time.  This would be difficult for anyone, especially Jane who is used to being involved and active.  I know Jane would love to hear from you.  Above all, she needs your prayers.  You can send a message to her at no cost by going to the hospital web site:

hBe sure to tell her you are with the MMG.

May God bless you for your kindness to one of His faithful servants.

Peace,

MaryAnn

GOD'S WORD FOR US

Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he will strengthen your heart. ~Psalm 27:14

Delight in the LORD: and he shall give you the desires of your heart.  ~Psalm 37:4

WORDS OF HOPE

When I was on pilgrimage in 1986 to the tomb of Margaret Mary,

I asked, in the spirit of what has been handed down in the Church,

that veneration of the Sacred Heart be faithfully restored. For it

is in the Heart of Christ that the human heart learns to know the

true and unique meaning of its life and destiny; it is in the Heart

of Christ that the human heart receives its capacity to love.

~ Pope JohnPaul

*****

Remember, the great secret of influence over souls

is to make them know and feel that Jesus loves them,

before we try to make them love Him.

This is the only means of doing real good.

Let us then, when we come before Jesus in the Tabernacle,

bring a lively faith in His presence,

and in His loving suffering Heart.

 ~Father Dignam, S.J.

*****

When some refuse to believe in the truths of religion,

one can put the picture of My Broken Heart

in their room (dwelling) without their knowledge.

It will bring through the wonder of graces

sudden and supernatural conversions."

~ Promise of our Merciful Savior to Sr. Claire Ferchaud, Loublande / France.
