About this Picture: My parents have been married 65 years.  They took this picture when they arrived home one day here in Wisconsin.  Except for her face, their statue of Mary was completely enclosed in the drifting snow.  They feel it was there as a reminder that Mary is always keeping a watchful eye on her children. ~B. Brandt, WI

How this picture reflects the Advent/Christmas season:  The Christmas story has Jesus' birth as December 25th, in the midst of winter, bringing light to the world at a time of the year when we have typically dark days.  This picture shows Mary, overcoming the darkness - peering out into the world, making it known that she is available to us...as she made her body available to God to deliver His son, our Saviour, to the world.

This is Advent at its best. Watch, be aware. Our Mother is better than Motel 6.  She not only leaves the light on; she glows through the snow!  Totally awesome.  ~submitted by Kim Williams

"Even though she is preparing to celebrate the birth of  her special child,
   she still watches over ours."
~submitted by Jane Olathe, KS
"Mother Mary is at the peak of our lives....even through the storms of life". ~submitted by Barbara Sanborn

Even when our sins cover and weigh us down, the loving Truth within Mary will forever shine through, to cleanse us as white as snow.
